What we do
Trailer, caravan and ute repairs, plus the aluminium side of the shop.
Most of what comes through the door is running gear: springs that have flattened, a hub that has let go, bearings that have gone quiet on somebody a long way from home. We also supply and fabricate aluminium, which is how the business started.
Axles and hubs
Bent axles, worn hubs, wheel studs sheared clean off. What we can't buy off the shelf, we machine here.
Wheel bearings
Replaced and packed, with a look over the rest of your running gear while it's up on the hoist.
Caravan suspension
Springs, suspension and running gear for caravans and camper trailers, so the next leg of the trip isn't a gamble.
Machining one-off parts
When the part you need is weeks away on a truck, we machine it in the shed instead.
Aluminium fabrication
Aluminium fabrication and supply for the Pilbara, out of our workshop on Murrena Street.

The workshop
A working shed in Wedgefield, not a front office.
J.K'S Aluminium sits in the light industrial strip at Wedgefield, a few minutes out of South Hedland. The sign on the wall says Mob. 0417 983 827 and that is genuinely the number you get, because the person who answers it is the person who will be under your trailer.
The shed does aluminium work for the Pilbara and repairs for people passing through. That mix is deliberate: the fabrication side keeps the machines and the stock here, so when a caravan needs a part nobody can get for weeks, we can make it rather than order it.

Inside the shed
Old school work ethic, and a sense of humour to match.
The wall above the bench carries the J.K'S Aluminium sign, a Johnny Cash poster under the heading “Local currency”, and a notice board of rates that gets read out to anyone who asks how much it costs to watch. It is that kind of workshop.
What it means for you is simple. You get told straight what is wrong, roughly what it will cost, and when it will be done. Then it gets done.

Good old fashioned 'can do' attitude and this team delivered. I cannot praise the them highly enough. They stayed open well after closing to fix our van and could have charged a whole lot more. 7 hrs from being broken beside the Great Northern Hwy 100km south of Port Hedland to being fixed and back on the road. Outstanding.
Hayden was easy to deal with and certainly knows his business. Found our caravan suspension issue, a broken main leaf spring and replaced our springs completely, all in a few hours. We couldn't be happier with his work and what it cost us.
Jan Kourt was an absolute lifesaver. We lost a wheel on our way past Port Hedland. Wheel studs sheered right off while we were doing 100km/hr on the Great Northern Highway. The towie knew exactly who could help us late on Saturday afternoon. Jan and his guys put the wheel on temporarily and let us setup the caravan to stay in the yard for the night since we couldn’t get accommodation anywhere.
We arrived at Jan’s by way of a tow from Marble Bar, and were very anxious. He tracked down the source of our caravan axle’s problem, provided a workable solution, which reassured us that we could continue our 7 month half lap with confidence. His kindness in enabling us to ‘free camp’ in his yard overnight was hugely appreciated.
Massive shout for getting us sorted with new leaf springs and wheel bearings for our trailer as we were passing through town. Highly recommend
Fifteen minutes past closing is still opening time if you are on the side of the road.

Broken springs, a lost wheel and a shredded bearing are all everyday jobs here, because the Great Northern Highway runs straight past the door and people plan trips around this stretch of the Pilbara. Ring us while you are still on the tow and we can have parts on the bench before you arrive.
